More on Tom’s Upcoming Release with Jack White
January 27th, 2012 | By TomJones

Third Man Records is very proud to announce a very special never thought it would happen in our wildest dreams 7” single with the one and only Tom Jones. Produced by Jack White III at his Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN. Sir Tom laid down two searing tracks full of dangerous swagger, blues braggadocio and those heartfelt soulful vocal stylings that have knocked em dead for generations.
Mr. Jones is a possessed man unleashed on his version of the Howlin Wolf classic “Evil”. Backed by an 8 piece band comprised of the finest heavy hitters on the Nashville scene including Jack White, Patrick Keeler (The Raconteurs), Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) and more; he wails, grunts, cajoles and purrs all the way through this 5 minute stomper. We can’t remember black cat voodoo blues ever sounding so good!
The wonderful flip on this platter that matters is a new take on the Frankie Lane hit “Jezebel” (which has famously been performed by Edith Piaf and Anna Calvi). Tom takes it to new heights here, his voice soaring and guiding the harp led backing band taking this classic tune to places it’s never been. It’s absolutely lovely.
We’re very excited for fans of Tom and Jack White to hear these two new songs, and they will be available on March 5th and 6th in UK and US respectively in finer record stores and iTunes everywhere.

As you know I think you’re the best singer of all time, but when do you think you’ll be back on tour..in Las Vegas area?? Hopefully soon. Many Blessings!!
You are clearly one of the best singers of all time. I realize I’m partial because I know the other greatest singer was Frankie Laine. Frankie himself thought you were one of his favorite singers as well. I can’t wait to hear your next release.
God bless you and your voice dear Tom.
Hello Tom my name is kaio and I’m brazilian.Know your job a short time and I wanted you come to Brazil.
TOM and Elvis where close friends. Only TJ lives and keeps on pushing forward…their common inheritace. Croners, yes but a lot more….the voices, the power and showmanship.
When Tom, with his big time voice came along in 1965, Elvis became a big fan, it seams. Imagine if they had decided to perform together in public. Tom have told us a little about their friendship, it’s cool, two giants in their respective fields.
TOM’s priorities throughout his career seams to have been live performances, Elvis have more records and less performences. Elvis is still the King of rock&roll, Tom is a King in his own fields, able to sing allmost everything, with a power like no other. Listen to his performances throughout the Matador record, all his hits and the temporary stuff from the near past…yes a King in his own field. In his 72 year he still keeps up an amazing working ability and tours the world like few other artist, never any playback or cheap gimmicks. Plain talent and skills all the way, honest and cool. I hope theese new recordings hit’s to the charts and brings him back on top once again where he belongs.
Sir Tom, I am so looking forward to the new single. I especially like your salute to the 7″ vinyl single. It is certain to become a collectors item. The music industry has so lost their way. They need people like you to be the beacon to bring them back to the main stage.
I am hoping that Simon Cowell picks you up for the US version of the X factor. It would be fun.
Sir Tom you continue to amaze me. You are unstopable and are definitely the most exciting entertainer today. I have followed your career since first seeing you in Lake Tahoe back in the 60′s. Seeing you twice in LV in 2010 truly blew me away. We are so blessed to have you. Thank you.

I’ve recently “rediscovered” Tom Jones and I can’t get enough! What a fantastic career. I hope he tours the New England area soon! I saw him live back in the early 70′s here in RI. He was fantastic then and he’s fantastic now!
I hope y’all got in touch with Charlie Adams in Nashville… Best drummer, with yanni now, my brother…
